KNOWSOME PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") governs the data collection, processing and usage made by Knowsome. and its affiliated companies and subsidiaries ("Company", "we" or "us") and our privacy practices with respect to the data we collect from individuals who download, access and use our:

  • website available at: https://itsknowsome.com, including our business partners("visitors" and "Business Partners", respectively);
  • individuals who have installed and are interacting with our mobile application known as "Knowsome" offering an advanced education learning app ("App");
  • individuals who have downloaded and use our "Knowsome" add-on browser extension ("Extension");
  • individuals who have used our "Knowsome" widget implemented in our Business Partners' websites ("Widget") each of the visitors, Business Partners and users, shall also be referred to herein as "you" and the website, App, Extensions and widget shall be referred to herein as "Services".

This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect, how such information may be used or shared with others, how we safeguard it and how each of the aforementioned individuals may exercise their rights related to their Personal Data (as such term is defined below), among others, according to the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) where applicable.

Please note that this Privacy Policy constitutes an integral part of our End User License Agreement available at: EULA ("Terms"). Definitions used herein but not defined shall have the meaning ascribed to them in our EULA.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • You are not required by law to provide us with any Personal Data. Sharing Personal Data with us is entirely voluntary. Some of our Services however, may depend on providing us with certain Personal Data, as specified below.
  • In general we use Personal Data (1) where we have a legitimate interest to do so (for example for website’s security purposes); (2) in order to perform a contract (for example, to provide the Services); (3) where there is a legal obligation imposed on us or to protect our legal rights; and (4) otherwise with your consent to do so.
  • Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the Services or provide us with any Personal Data.
  • You may be entitled under applicable law to request to review, amend, erase or restrict the processing of your Personal Data, all as detailed under this Privacy Policy
  • We do not sell, trade, or rent users’ Personal Data to third parties. We only share Personal Data for limited circumstances as specified herein.

AMENDMENTS

We reserve the right to periodically amend or revise the Privacy Policy which will go into effect immediately upon the implementation of the revised Privacy Policy on our Services, as applicable. The last revision date will be reflected in the “Last Modified” heading located at the top of the Privacy Policy. In the event that we implement any changes that substantially changes our privacy practices, we will provide an applicable notification, subject to applicable law requirements. We recommend that you review this Privacy Policy periodically to ensure that you understand our privacy practices and to check for any amendments.

TYPES OF DATA WE COLLECT AND PURPOSE OF USE

We may collect aggregated, non-personal non-identifiable information which may be made available or gathered via your use of our Services ("Non-Personal Data"). We are not aware of the identity of the individual from which the Non-Personal Data is collected.

We may also collect from you, during your access or interaction with our Services, individually identifiable information, namely information that identifies an individual or may with reasonable effort be used to identify an individual ("Personal Data"). This may include online identifiers, name, emails, etc., subject to applicable law.

If we combine Personal Data with Non-Personal Data, we will treat the combined data as Personal Data.

Non-Personal Data Processed by Us

We collect Non-Personal Data regarding use of the Services, such as technical and aggregated data about you, including: type of browsers; type of operation system; type of device; time and date you access and use the Services; approximate geographical location (i.e., country), and users’ navigation and actions in the website, App and Extension. Non-Personal Data is used mainly for click stream analysis in order to provide, maintain, develop and enhance our Services, including among others, in order to measure and understand the level of engagement with the Services, for general business analytics for ensuring the technical functioning of our Services, for security purposes, etc.

Personal Data Processed by Us

We collect the following Personal Data, and process it in accordance with the purposes and legal basis specified in the table below.

Online Identifiers

When you access our website, use our App or Extension or otherwise interact with our Widget, we will collect certain online identifiers which includes your IP address. We may also create a random user ID and store it in a cookie in our local storage (if you wish to learn more, please read the "Cookies and Tracking Technologies" section below).

We use this data for our legitimate interests of (i) operating, providing, maintaining, protecting, managing, customizing and improving our Services and the way in which we offer it; (ii) enhancing your experience; (iii) auditing and tracking usage statistics and traffic flow; (iv) protecting the security of the Services, as well as our and third parties’ rights (subject to applicable law requirements). These online identifiers may also be collected by our service providers for advertising purposes.

If we use third party cookies on our website, or in the event the collection of online identifiers, we will obtain your consent if required under applicable law.

Browsing History

When you use our App or Extension, we may collect certain browsing history, such as, the terms you have searched in the App or Extensions as well as other webpages applicable to our Services. In addition, we will also process information regarding the time you have spent in certain webpages.

We use this data for the purpose of performing a contract – meaning providing you with the Services. For example, the measurement of time spent in certain webpages will be used for the purpose of helping you turning this waste of time into learning. In addition, the browsing history is needed in order to offer you the applicable Educational Content you are interested in.

In the event required under applicable law, we will obtain your consent prior to the data collection.

Contacting Us

If you voluntarily contact us in any manner whether for support, to submit a request, if you wish to become our Business Partner or for other inquiries, whether by sending us an email or through other means of communications, you may be asked to provide us with your contact information such as your email address and name.

We will use this data, as well as our contact history, solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiries and provide you with the support or information you have requested. We will retain our correspondence with you for as long as needed, subject to applicable law.
In App Chat

If you decide using our chat feature available in the App in order to correspond with other users online, we will store the nickname you have inserted as well as the correspondence

We store this data solely for the purpose of providing you with the Services and enabling the operation of the chat.
Log in Through Social Network:

In the event applicable, we may offer you to log in to our Services through your Facebook or Google+ account. If you choose to log in through such accounts, we will process certain information such as your Facebook ID, name and email address.

We will use this data for the purpose of providing our Services to you, i.e., to designate your account.
Business Partners’ Registration:

If you are or wish to become a Business Partner and implement our Widget, we may offer you the ability to register online you may be required to provide us with certain information such as your full name and email address

We will use this data for the purpose of performing our contract with you, i.e., to provide the Services and to designate your account. Your contact details will be used in order to send you needed information related to our Services and our business engagement (e.g., send you a welcome message, notify you regarding any updates to our Services, send applicable invoices, etc.) and additional occasional communications and updates related to the Services, as well as provide you with tips related to our Services, and promotional and marketing emails. We may also use the information in order to verify your identity.

HOW WE COLLECT DATA

Depending on the nature of your interaction with the Services, the above detailed data is collected as follows:

  • In the event you voluntarily choose to provide us with information, e.g., when you contact us.
  • Automatically, including through the use of cookies (as detailed below), and other similar tracking technologies.

We will ask for your consent to collect Personal Data and offer you the choice to opt-out of such collection if we are required to do so in accordance with applicable law.

We use cookies and other similar tracking technologies (such as SDKs implemented in our App) when you access the website or interact with our Services. This use is a standard industry-wide practice.

We do not share any Personal Data collected from you with third parties or any of our partners except in the following events:

We may store any type of information on our servers or our cloud servers, use or share Non-Personal Data in any of the above circumstances, as well as for the purpose of providing and improving our website and App, aggregate statistics, marketing and conduct business and marketing analysis, and to enhance your experience.

DATA RETENTION

Unless you instruct us otherwise or decide to erase you User ID cookie stored in our local storage (to learn more, please read the "Opt Out" section above) and subject to applicable laws, we retain the information we collect for as long as needed to provide our services and to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements if applicable.

SECURITY

We use physical, technical and administrative security measures for the services that we believe are in compliance with applicable laws and industry standards in order to prevent your information from being accessed without the proper authorization, improperly used or disclosed, unlawfully destructed or accidentally lost. It is important for you to remember however, that unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet cannot be 100% secure. As such, although we will do our best to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted via our website or our App and any transmission of your data shall be done at your own risk.

DATA STORAGE

We currently use: (i) our own local storage; (ii) Google Cloud Services as a cloud and storage service provider. CHILDREN

Our Services are not directed nor is it intended for use by children (the phrase "child" shall mean an individual that is under the age defined by applicable law and specifically under the age of 16) and we do not knowingly process a child’s information. We will discard any information that we receive from a user that is considered a "child" immediately upon our discovery that such a user shared information with us. TRANSFER OF YOUR DATA

We may store or process your Personal Data in a variety of countries including the United States. Please note, that if you are a resident of the EEA we will take appropriate measures to ensure that your Personal Data receives an adequate level of data protection when it is being transferred out of the EEA. If you are a resident of a jurisdiction where the transferring of your Personal Data requires your consent, then your consent to this Privacy Policy includes your express consent for such transfer of your data.
